Meet the Photographer

“I love light.”

Whether it’s the golden glow of sunset or the gentle first light of dawn, light is the essence of what makes a photograph come alive.

I’m a Long Island photographer specializing in fine-art landscapes, coastal scenes, wildlife, lighthouses, and night-sky photography.

My passion for photography first surfaced when I was very young. My father, an amateur photographer, spent the better part of one stormy weekend trying to capture a lightning strike behind an electrical transmission tower. He successfully captured a shot that remains seared in my memory to this day. That image helped me understand the power of photography and appreciate the patience and skill required to bring a photographic vision to life.

It took some time before I decided to become a serious photographer. I had another passion growing up—technology—which took center stage as I pursued a career as a computer programmer. Little did I know that the digital photography revolution would bring my two passions together and turn me into the photographer I am today. Not only do I love spending time behind the camera, but I also love spending time in the digital darkroom. That’s where I turn my images into personal works of art.

Today, my subjects are wide-ranging. My first love will always be landscapes and photographing the beauty that surrounds us. I find macro photography equally engaging, as I enjoy capturing a world of small details that often goes unnoticed.

My photography has appeared in books—including Curious George Discovers the Stars—as well as magazines, travel guides, exhibits, business publications, and weather applications. I also provided the photography for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office 2023 Annual Report.

I am a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography and have served as the Nassau County Camera Club president and as a competition judge across Long Island.
